Cable Tray Vertical Elbow

Cable Tray Vertical Elbow

The Cable Tray Vertical Elbow — also known as a Vertical Bend or Riser — connects two cable trays at various angles along a vertical direction, allowing the cable route to rise or descend between different elevations. It is manufactured from hot-dip or cold-rolled galvanized steel, selected according to the material and thickness of the cable tray it will be paired with.

Manufacturing Process

After the component is cut from steel sheet, it goes through punching and bending processes, and the elbow sections are then assembled and welded together. Ader Tavan Nami manufactures a full range of vertical elbows in various sizes and thicknesses, with the capability to produce custom dimensions according to project specifications. The component is connected to the cable tray using mushroom-head bolts and nuts.

Sizing Considerations

The width and height of the elbow must be specified accurately to match the tray — for example, a vertical elbow for a tray with a width of 30 cm requires a matching height of 4 cm. Standard widths range from 10 to 60 cm (10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60 cm), with heights of 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, and 15 cm. In many cases, to increase structural strength during installation, a thicker sheet is selected for the elbow compared to the main tray.

Custom Angles

It is critical that the cable-loading requirements of your project be clearly defined before ordering. In certain designs, the cable routing path requires elbows manufactured at special angles; Ader Tavan Nami is capable of producing non-standard angles in addition to conventional market options. Please refer to the attached drawings for this product and compare them with similar products from other manufacturers.

Build Quality

Cable tray connectors produced by Ader Tavan Nami are fabricated as solid, integrated pieces, using the required amount of material for each component. Under no circumstances is the product design altered to reduce cost in a way that compromises structural integrity — for example, some manufacturers omit the bottom support plate and leave only the sidewalls, which is unacceptable in our production standards.

If your cable-routing path includes sections where trays are enclosed under a cover, a matching cover can also be provided for the elbow, ensuring protection against the hazards mentioned above.

Key Parameters for Selecting a Vertical Elbow

  • Height of the elbow (in centimeters or millimeters)
  • Angle of the elbow (in degrees)
  • Sheet thickness
  • Type of sheet: hot-dip galvanized or cold-rolled galvanized

Ader Tavan Nami typically manufactures and supplies vertical elbows in 15°, 45°, 75°, 90°, and 110° angles. To facilitate heat dissipation, multiple punched openings are applied to this component to ensure airflow and maintain cable tray temperature at safe levels.
