Fire Hydrants
Another essential and widely used product is the fire hydrant. Hydrants are manufactured through various methods such as metal casting or welding. At Ader Tavan Nami, both of these methods are employed to produce high-quality fire hydrants that meet operational requirements

Adar Tavan Nami Company commenced its operations with the mission of delivering high-quality fire protection equipment and services for factories, oil, gas and petrochemical industries, as well as power plants. Customer orientation and enhancing client satisfaction through active engagement, professional services, and the supply of reliable products are among the company’s core objectives. It is worth noting that Adar Tavan Nami plays a significant role in the competitive field of fire detection and suppression equipment manufacturing. One of the most widely used firefighting products is the fire hydrant.
A fire hydrant is a device used for firefighting applications, widely employed not only in urban areas but also across industrial facilities. During a fire incident, the hydrant is connected to the regional water supply network, providing firefighters with the required water flow for extinguishment.
In many cases, the presence of hydrants in high-risk industrial zones or urban fire-prone areas can serve as a more efficient alternative to fire trucks. Moreover, hydrants offer economic advantages: when properly installed and maintained, they can significantly reduce the costs associated with purchasing and maintaining firefighting vehicles.
The standpipe fire hydrant model is typically installed on pressurized municipal and emergency water supply networks in cities, industrial premises, and other critical areas. Standard hydrants are equipped with at least one inlet and three outlet connections of varying sizes, with outlet ports fitted with chained protective caps.
Types of Fire Hydrants :
- Dry Barrel Hydrant
- Wet Barrel
Dry Barrel Fire Hydrants :
In this type of fire hydrant, no water is stored inside the hydrant body. When the valve is opened, water flows from the main pipeline into the hydrant body; upon closing the valve, the remaining water inside the hydrant is discharged through a drain valve located at the base of the unit. This mechanism ensures that the hydrant is protected against freezing.
In regions where there is a risk of hydrant freezing, dry barrel hydrants are utilized to prevent ice formation. In these hydrants, water remains only up to the flange connection point with the fire water supply network. When the hydrant is opened, water enters the barrel and discharges through the outlet ports. After the hydrant is closed, the water inside the barrel is automatically drained to avoid freezing during winter.
An important consideration in the installation of fire water networks and associated hydrants is that the pipelines and hydrants must be buried below the local frost depth to ensure reliable operation
Wet Barrel Fire Hydrants :
Another type of fire hydrant is the wet barrel hydrant, in which the entire hydrant body remains filled with water. This type is suitable for regions where freezing conditions do not occur.
Similar to the dry barrel hydrant, the wet barrel hydrant is installed with an above-ground barrel; however, in this design the entire barrel is continuously pressurized with water. Unlike the dry type, the wet barrel hydrant does not have a single main valve. Instead, each outlet port is equipped with its own individual valve.
Due to the constant presence of water inside the hydrant, wet barrel hydrants should not be installed in areas subject to freezing temperatures.
Adar Tavan Nami, as a leading manufacturer, designs, produces, and supplies fire hydrants in both dry and wet barrel configurations to meet diverse operational requirements
