Deluge Valve Systems
Fire risk levels are generally classified into three categories :
- Low Hazard
- Ordinary Hazard
- High Hazard
In high-hazard areas, such as power plants, refineries, and other oil & gas facilities fires can develop extremely rapidly. To prevent fire escalation, Deluge Valve Systems (also known as deluge fire suppression systems) are employed.

The design and construction of this fire extinguishing system is for quick response to fire growth.
These systems are designed for rapid fire response and are activated hydraulically, pneumatically, or electronically. Once triggered, they discharge large volumes of water or foam at high flow rates to suppress the fire.
The primary valve in such systems is called a Deluge Valve, which is a fast-acting, diaphragm-operated valve consisting of three chambers isolated from each other by a diaphragm, a clapper, and a seat seal.
When in standby mode, water pressure is maintained in the upper chamber via a bypass line equipped with a small check valve to prevent backflow. This equalizes the pressure between the upper chamber and the main water supply, keeping the valve closed.
Upon fire detection, a signal is sent to the solenoid valve in the trim assembly, releasing water from the upper diaphragm chamber. As a result, the pressure in the lower chamber—connected to the main supply—pushes the diaphragm and clapper upward, opening the valve and allowing water to flow into the fire suppression piping.
The deluge valve skids manufactured by Ader Tavan Nami feature a main line and a bypass line.
A Y-type strainer at the main line inlet to prevent debris from entering the system. Two butterfly valves before and after the deluge valve to isolate it for maintenance or replacement. A butterfly valve in the bypass line, normally closed, which can be opened for system use if the main line is shut down.
