The cable tray horizontal elbow—also referred to as a Horizontal Elbow, Horizontal Bend, or Corner—is manufactured from hot-dip or cold-rolled galvanized steel, selected based on the material and thickness of the cable tray sheet. It is used to connect two cable trays at various angles along a horizontal direction.
After cutting the component from steel sheet and completing the punching and bending processes, the elbow sections are assembled and welded together.
Adar Tavan Nami manufactures a full range of horizontal elbows for cable trays in various sizes and thicknesses, with the capability to produce custom dimensions according to project specifications.
This component is connected to the cable tray using mushroom-head bolts and nuts. It is essential that the width and height of the elbow be specified accurately—for example, a horizontal elbow for a tray with a width of 30 cm and a height of 4 cm.
Cable tray elbows are produced in widths of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, and 60 cm, and in heights of 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, and 15 cm. In many cases, to increase structural strength during installation, a thicker sheet may be selected for the elbow compared to the main tray.
It is critical that the cable-loading requirements of your project be clearly defined. In certain designs, the routing path of the cables requires elbows to be manufactured with special angles; Adar Tavan Nami is capable of producing such non-standard angles in addition to conventional market options.
Please refer to the attached drawings for this product and compare them with similar products from other manufacturers. The cable tray connectors produced by Adar Tavan Nami are fabricated as solid, integrated pieces, using the required and appropriate amount of material for each component. Under no circumstances is the product design altered to reduce cost in a way that compromises structural integrity. For example, some manufacturers omit the bottom support plate—leaving only the sidewalls—which is unacceptable in our production standards.
If your cable-routing path involves sections where cable trays are enclosed under a cover, a dedicated cover can also be provided for the elbow, as shown in the illustration, ensuring protection against potential hazards previously mentioned.
Key Parameters for Selecting a Cable Tray Horizontal Elbow:
Height of the horizontal elbow (in centimeters or millimeters)
Angle of the horizontal elbow (in degrees)
Sheet thickness
Type of sheet: hot-dip galvanized or cold-rolled galvanized
Adar Tavan Nami typically manufactures and supplies horizontal elbows in 15°, 45°, 75°, 90°, and 110° angles. To facilitate heat dissipation, multiple punched openings are applied in this component to ensure airflow and maintain cable tray temperature at safe levels.
